The Perils of Home Buying

“We Thought We’d Lost Our Dream Home”

The phone rang just after 5:00 pm.

“We’re so sorry,” the estate agent said. “The seller is thinking of pulling out.”

For Hannah and Mark, it felt like months of searching, saving, and planning had come crashing down. They had already imagined celebrating Christmas in their new home. Their children had picked out their bedrooms, and family and friends had been told the exciting news.

Now, everything was in jeopardy.

The seller had become frustrated by delays and was considering accepting an offer from another buyer who claimed they could complete more quickly.

Fortunately, Hannah and Mark’s conveyancing solicitor acted immediately.

By speaking with the seller’s solicitor, updating the estate agents, and resolving the outstanding legal enquiries as a priority, communication was restored and the transaction was brought back on track. A few weeks later, Hannah and Mark were handed the keys to the home they thought they had lost.
