1. Accessibility Policy Statement

Thomas Boyd Whyte is committed to providing legal services that are accessible to everyone, including clients, visitors, and employees with disabilities. We believe in treating all people with dignity, independence, and respect. We are dedicated to identifying and removing barriers to ensure full participation in our legal services and workplace.

2. Commitment to Digital Accessibility

We aim to make our website, digital documents, and client portals accessible, adhering to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standards.

  • Website: We strive for a website that is navigable by keyboard, compatible with screen readers, and optimized for high contrast viewing.
  • Documents: We aim to provide legal documents in accessible formats (e.g., structured HTML, accessible PDFs) upon request.
  • Third-Party Content: While we strive for full compliance, some third-party content may not be fully accessible, but we are working with vendors to improve this.

3. Physical Accessibility

We are committed to maintaining accessible physical offices, including:

  • Barrier-free entrances and exits.
  • Accessible restrooms and meeting rooms.
  • Alternative arrangements for meetings (e.g., video calls) if physical accessibility is limited.

4. Accommodations for Clients and Staff

We provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities.

  • Client Services: We will accommodate specific needs, such as providing documents in large print, Braille, or ensuring sign language interpreters for meetings.
  • Employment: Thomas Boyd Whyte provides accommodations for employees during the recruitment process, onboarding, and throughout their employment.
  • Request Process: Requests for accommodations can be made by contacting Shena Franklin, Managing Partner at sf@tbw.uk.com.

5. Training

All staff, particularly those in client-facing roles, receive training to understand the needs of disabled clients, including those with hidden disabilities, to ensure tailored, respectful service.
