Every morning, the doors at TBW Solicitors open to welcome people from all walks of life.
Some arrive excited, collecting the keys to their first home. Others come to plan for the future by making a Will or Lasting Power of Attorney. Some need reassurance during a family dispute. Others are facing one of the most difficult days of their lives after being arrested or accused of a criminal offence.
Whatever brings someone through our doors, they are welcomed in exactly the same way—with kindness, respect, and a genuine desire to help.
This year, we are incredibly proud to celebrate 80 years of serving our community.
Since 1946, TBW Solicitors has grown alongside the communities we serve. While the legal profession has evolved, our purpose has remained unchanged: to make expert legal advice accessible, approachable, and centred around people.
Today, we continue that tradition from our three offices on The Broadway, Bexleyheath, including our conveniently located office at Crook Log, just moments from the bus stop, making it easy for clients to visit us when they need us most.
But being part of the community has always meant more than simply having an office here.
For many years, we have proudly provided Legal Aid for eligible criminal matters, ensuring that those who need expert legal representation can access justice regardless of their circumstances. Standing beside our clients when they need someone in their corner is not a new initiative—it’s something we have been committed to for generations.
We are equally passionate about helping people prepare for the future. As proud members of the National Free Wills Network, we work with charities to provide professionally drafted Wills while supporting causes that change lives. We also proudly take part in Free Wills Month, partnering with leading charities to help more people protect their loved ones while leaving a lasting legacy for the organisations they care about.
Our commitment to the community doesn’t stop there.
Every year, we welcome students through work experience placements, internships, and legal placements, giving aspiring professionals the opportunity to learn, grow, and gain valuable experience in a real legal practice. Watching someone take their first steps into a legal career—and knowing we have played a small part in that journey—is one of the greatest rewards of what we do.
We are also proud to celebrate the rich diversity of our community. Through our support for Black History Month and other local initiatives, we recognise the importance of inclusion, education, and celebrating the people and cultures that make our community stronger.
And yes—we’re an animal-friendly law firm too. We know that pets are part of the family, so well-behaved four-legged visitors are always welcome in our offices. It’s a small touch, but one that reflects the warm, friendly environment we strive to create every day.
Looking back over the last 80 years, we’ve realised something important.
People rarely remember every legal document they signed.
They remember how they were treated.
They remember the solicitor who took the time to listen. The receptionist who greeted them with a smile. The reassurance they received during uncertain times. The celebration when a matter was successfully concluded.
The confidence they felt knowing someone genuinely cared.
That is the legacy of TBW Solicitors.
As we celebrate this milestone, we would like to thank every client, colleague, charity, community organisation, and local partner who has been part of our journey. Your trust has shaped who we are today.
For 80 years, we’ve been more than a law firm. We’ve been neighbours, supporters, trusted advisers, and part of our community’s story.
Here’s to the next chapter—and to continuing to welcome generations to come through our doors.
